Design
Take a look at the Caddy Life's new Volkswagen emblem – it's just a small symbol of its change in design. Further across, you'll notice the new look bumpers, new rear lights and new headlights that reflect the Volkswagen family look. To highlight its sharp design, the Maxi Life comes with chrome detailing and colour-coded bumpers, mirrors and door handles.
Interior Flexibility
Inside, the Caddy Life can adapt to suit your needs. The seating arrangement has been made more flexible, with the first row of seats able to double fold (in 1/3 or 2/3) or be removed completely to create a level load surface. In the 7-seater models, the second row of seats can also be folded, or removed.
Safety
To help protect you and your passengers, the Caddy Life comes as standard with integrated passive and active safety systems. Daytime running lights help to maintain visibility on the road as well as adaptive lighting (shown left). Top-of-category driver assistance systems – such as Electronic Stabilisation Program, ABS, EDL, ASR and MSR (for engine-drag torque control) – help you handle critical situations. And should an accident occur, dual front airbags (and head/thorax airbags in the Maxi Life) help to protect you and your passengers.
Power
With the Caddy Life's range of state-of-the-art TDI engines, you'll enjoy strong performance, reduced fuel consumption, and low CO2 emissions. Powered by high-pressure direct-injection Common Rail technology, these new diesel engines deliver enhanced efficiency and the quieter on-road comfort that you'd expect from a passenger car. Driving characteristics have also been optimised with the new electro-mechanical power steering system, adjusting the Caddy Life's steering assistance as you increase speed.
Direct Shift Gearbox
This clever gearbox offers the sporty driving dynamics of a manual transmission, with the comfort of an automatic. How? When it changes gears, it switches them in just a few hundredths of a second – so smooth it's virtually unnoticeable. It also offers a sports mode and manual setting, all-in-all giving a lower fuel consumption, fewer emissions, and a quieter ride.
